Material damage
Your electronic equipment is covered against loss or damage. This damage must occur while the equipment is at work or at rest, in transit or being temporarily removed.
You’re also covered for:
- The costs of dismantling, re-erecting, transporting, and removing the damaged property.
- Fire extinguishing charges.
- Clearing costs.
- Express delivery and overtime.
- Professional fees.
Consequential loss
Consequential loss covers you for the additional, reasonable and necessary costs which you incur as a result of accidental loss or damage to your electronic equipment, as well as the reasonable and necessary costs for the reconstitution or recompilation of data or programs, recorded on or stored in data-carrying media.
Material damage and consequential loss
You’re covered for/against:
- Additional equipment or programs purchased by you.
- The devaluation or revaluation of the Rand against that of the country of origin of the insured equipment.
- The loss of laptops, notebooks or palmtop computers, as well as all other portable computer equipment, anywhere in the world.
- Hire purchases/finance agreements.
- Loss or damage due to power surges/lightning strikes.
- The actions of tenants.
- Total loss (in terms of replacement and market value).
- Restoration expenses.
